Good morning from the High Court - the Lord Chief Justice's court to be precise. I'm here today for the Gina Miller v The Prime Minister case challenging his right to prorogue Parliament.
Ms Miller is represented by (Lord) David Pannick QC. The Prime Minister by Sir James Eadie QC, the government's go-to man when it's in a legally tight spot.
Judges: The Lord Chief, Lord Burnett. The Master of the Rolls, Sir Terence Etherton and the President of the Queen's Bench Division - Dame Victoria Sharp.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, the anti-Muslim/Islam campaigner who goes by the stage name Tommy Robinson, is out of jail and apparently looking for a hairdresser to sort out his barnet before he goes back to the microphone.
His 9-week sentence appears short - but is in actual fact the halfway point of a nine-month term served in two parts (he was initially locked up for contempt of court in May 2018)
Once he's paid for a haircut, he needs some change for his whopping legal bills (see pic of the Attorney General's costs). He's asking fans to help pay that plus £84k for an appeal.

High Court in Northern Ireland dismisses challenge to leaving the EU without security and trade agreements in place (No Deal) on basis that the case is "inherently and unmistakably political".
The challenge from victims’ campaigner Raymond McCord and others focused on the claim that leaving the EU without a deal governing the on-going relationship would damage Northern Ireland peace process and endanger the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.
Case is now expected to go to an appeal tomorrow.

Court 4 Public Gallery waiting for Miller Mark II to begin... 10 people in the public gallery (bring a cushion, these benches are Victorian). Lots of media interest. Eadie QC for the govt. Pannick QC leading @TomRHickman QC for Miller. One day hearing. Starts at 10am.
Lord Chief Justice Burnett, Sir Terence Etherton MR, Dame Victoria Sharp PQBD.
Far fewer lawyers this time compared to last time. Atmosphere calm and purposeful. Public gallery filling up. Now 30 people. Plenty of space still.

The judge is sitting and going through some admin. He says he is hoping to hand down what will be judgment no. 5 by the end of the day. It relates to his refusal to allow the Post Office to appeal the Common Issues trial judgment.
