A quote from the magnificent film, Moneyball:
"It's a problem that you think we need to explain ourselves. Don't! To anyone. I'm going to see this through, for better or worse."
Or he isn't.
But in order to understand it, he will have to overcome the protests of society, and those of his very own mind:
All the humans around him are blithering idiots.
For if he seeks to gain support
Or curry praise
Or invite input and opinion
He will, as sure as the night follows the day,
Fail.
The one whom, for reasons unknown, has the DNA to go All-In
Against the grain and the tide of humanity
Cannot afford the presence of "commen men" in his vicinity
For they will be the iceberg that sinks his ship.
In every way imaginable.
The one who has the DNA to become a pioneer and a legend
Has little choice but to isolate himself from the masses
So that his ideas can blossom without restraint.
His ideas would never have taken flight.
The experiment would never have been taken to its completion.
For the "GM," by virtue of his DNA, was simply not equipped to advise Billy Beane.
Anything that is original, revolutionary, or antithetical is simply beyond his grasp.
It is akin to trying to make him attain a dog's sense of smell
The receptors are simply absent.
Come hell or high tide,
Is not a man who is made for great things.
To become a pioneer and a legend,
And if he seeks not to compromise his unique insights,
He will have to allow himself to accept what his experiences have taught him all along:
That those around him can only drag him down.
They enjoy their rose-colored glasses and bumper-sticker slogans
For them, the Truth is no match for self-created fantasies.
Or good or bad
Or pleasant or unpleasant.
It is humans that create such judgments and distinctions.
He will have to walk alone
Those around him are blithering idiots
He must allows his ideas to flow unabated
He must compromise on nothing
And "explain" to no one.
And he will attain anything and everything that he seeks.
Namaste.
