One of my teen's friends was beaten so badly last night that he was pronounced dead before doctors were able to revive him. Both boys are 17. The boy who did it was jealous that my kid's friend was dating his ex girlfriend

That boy thought he owned his ex girlfriend. He thought he could almost kill the next boy she dated.
We need to do better with raising boys. This form of Patriarchy can kill. It could have been his ex he attacked, but the gender of the victim is immaterial.

The point is that raising boys with entitlement is dangerous.
Not teaching boys healthy ways to express their feelings is dangerous.
Trapping boys in a small box of masculinity is dangerous.
Parents and communities must do better.

& governments can do better Parenting is stressful, expensive, difficult & largely unsupported by society. I know how hard it is to parent while worrying about how to pay rent. I don't know the circumstances of the perpetrator's upbringing but there is a LOT of poverty here.
