With all of the hullabaloo surrounding @JimmieJohnson's failing to qualify for the "post-season" for the first time since @NASCAR adopted the Chase in 2004, lies this one simple fact. He's not been the same driver since his bad crash at Pocono in 2017. #NASCARPlayoffs
Remember that he was coming off his seventh title in 2016 and had won 3 times in 2017 entering that race at Pocono, including the previous race at Dover, but since that hard crash at Pocono in June of 2017, Johnson has not won since. It's hard to ignore that fact. #NASCARPlayoffs
So there's a clear line of demarcation between the decline of Johnson's career the last two and a half years, and that line of demarcation is that race at Pocono in June of 2017, when he suffered a bad crash after his brakes failed entering turn one. #NASCARPlayoffs
