Also worry about protection this source after extraction. We’ve seen Russia systematically hunting down spies in UK, enemies in Germany, would they attack someone in the US? Would 🇺🇸 let that happen? Would this presidential admin do anything?
We’re unlikely to see or know from the outside, but I hope congressional intel committees are doing a full accounting on the loss of intelligence collection in last 3 years taking into account the loss/removal of sources, decrease in sharing by long term partners
And I’d be interested to see if all the authoritarians we’ve been cozy with have reciprocally increased their sharing? I bet not
Last thing I’d add is how much this cost the tax payer. Whether it’s tweeting out a classified photo of Iran on Twitter for no gain or removing top sources from Russia, it’s a major blow in manpower and resources.
