With the help of @PICJournalWatch @harrykchris we though we could put together a collaborative thread with useful #PedsICU resources like apps, websites, blogs and accounts. This thread is open so please don’t hesitate to add yours. Here are mine 👇🏻
Apps:
- I-Perfuse: great tool for anything cardiovascular including #ECMO cannula sizes, equations, a calculator... very useful for #PedsCICU
- Heartpedia: awesome 3D models of heart anatomy. Also great for teaching at the #PedsCICU. And it was created by the great @pccm_doc
Apps continued:
- The Sanford Guide: it costs 25€/year. I’d pay 250€ since I use it everyday in the #PedsICU. Basically everything you need to now about antibiotics and bugs #PedsID.
- @SCCM’s patient communicator. It helps your older patients communicate in several languages. It includes cool features like #PedsICU diaries.
- MDCalc: just in case you forget how to calculate anything...
- @cochranecollab has a nice Cochrane Library app.
- Mendeley: I use it to stash my articles and read them later or add them to my library. It can be synced with your desktop.
- JN Listen: all the podcasts from @JAMA_current in one app.
- I use iDoctus or Pediamecum for medication dosing/intervals but these are in Spanish.
I think this is it for the apps. Will add more later if I can come up with more and start with websites/blogs, etc. Please share and add yours! #PedsICU
Now let’s move to the accounts:
- @PICJournalWatch is an obvious choice. Selected articles related to the field by the great @harrykchris.
- @PedsICU_JC is another obvious choice. The one and only #PedsICU journal club curated by @DeannaMarie208.
- @DrKanaris is the mastermind behind #FridayQuiz. Just in case you’ve been living in a cave or are new to Twitter, #FridayQuiz is an interactive clinical case discussion curated by Costas.
- @sgdambrauskas is another great guy to follow. Keep an eye on his educiative memes.
- @PedsICU_tweets is a great choice to stay up to date on everything #PedsICU since it retweets anything with the hashtag on it.
- @pccm_doc is one of the nicest people around and one of the creators of Heartpedia.
- @PALISInet is another great one to follow and there are accounts for many of the subgroups like @BloodNet_PALISI @EcmoPedi @PalisiPedal
- @DrSeanBarnes is the man behind all the #PedsICU data and stats.
- and of course the great @SapnaKmd who introduced #PedsICU to the world and is the one to blame for this great community.
- @PedCritCareMed is the main Journal in the field. Make sure to follow!
Not #PedsICU but important enough are ICU survivors @MarkThomHudson and @Mytwtsmyfeelins
I obviously forgot #POCUS wizard @MJGriksaitis
- #PedsICU fellowship programs have taken to Twitter as well @CHOP_CCMFellows @MottPICU @JHPICUFellows @UCSD_PICU @UVA_PICU @ACHPRPICU and many more.
- @LA_Rednetwork is a Latin American collaborative #PedsICU network.
