Thread: On Media Narratives

1. Once upon a time, the legacy media controlled the daily news narrative. There were three principal broadcast TV networks which took their nightly news cues from the NYT and, secondarily, the WaPo.
2. Before cable TV, talk radio, and the rise of social media, the news of the day moved slooooowly and could be controlled and shaped by the powers-that-be.
3. BTW, that was the title of a book about the early days of the legacy media, and it is a good read – for historical perspective purposes – about the media:

We now have One American News Network (OAN). It is carried on Direct TV, CH. 347, but unfortunately not on Dish Network. The latter is being flooded with requests to carry OAN.
NewsWithViews’ own CEO called Dish Network and asked them when they would carry OAN. He didn’t receive a satisfactory answer and so he switched to Dish Network. Yes, there is another choice available.

New: Gary Schreier, senior vice president of programming for Fox Business, has just released a statement on this segment: “We condemn the rhetoric by the guest on Lou Dobbs Tonight. This episode was a repeat which has now been pulled from all future airings.”
I just called the guest, Judicial Watch's Chris Farrell, to see if he had any comment. He said he did not, and then hung up the phone on me.
Of note: This is not the first time this particular guest has talked about the "Soros occupied" State Department. He made a similar comment earlier this year in May.
