Retail sales have now exceeded $500 billion for the 8th consecutive month, while people embarrassed themselves talking about a recession.

The consumer is strong. They got spooked by big media, not by data or reality.
Also, I have to acknowledge @TJAnderson1 was right about the retail number last December, which big media had a big fit over. October & November were huge, Dec. came in just below $500B. He noted the early Thanksgiving and shopping season.

He was right.

They had hit that mark for 7 straight months prior.

We were told under Obama retail was dead due to structural econ changes.
