40% of Republican Supreme Court justices are sexual predators.
Their ideologies are predatory too.
And it’s not a coincidence the party of Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh elected a predator and authoritarian like Donald Trump.

The NYT was wrong to frame their article as “Brett fit in at Yale, his victim didn’t”. But it’s not a coincidence he targeted someone he saw as beneath him. Abusers exploit power imbalances.
The WH and GOP Senate could’ve dropped Kavanaugh when the truth came out. They could’ve found another reactionary without his past. Sticking with him was a show of power and a message to women.
Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh, like Donald Trump and Mike Pence, are living Confederate statues that say “We’re in charge here. This country belongs to people like us.” (And yes Thomas is absolutely a participant in rich white male supremacy.)
Mitch McConnell was sending the same message when he stole a Supreme Court seat from Barack Obama. Republicans and the press send that message when they enable Trump. Trump sends that message with everything he does.
The message is “America belongs to straight white Christian men.” That’s minority rule. It’s anti-democratic to the core. It’s why they’re ok with rigged elections and unpopular laws. It’s why the cruelty is the point. Everything is a celebration of power.

I just heard CBS radio’s quick hits on today’s Ukraine news. They:
- made it a he said, she said story
- presented Trump’s spin at face value
- called it inside the Beltway buzz
- made me dumber for listening

The average citizen is getting misled. It’s on *us* to inform them.
They’re still at it. “Reactions are generally falling along partisan lines.” Then Ben Sasse vs Adam Schiff, followed by yet another clip of Trump lying and blaming Democrats. I’ve heard 3 quick spots and zero nonpartisan information. No actual reporting on substance. Cowards.
