1. It's important to understand EXACTLY what's happening to Deborah Ramirez and her allegations against Kavanaugh.

Republicans continue to smear her.

The media continues to diminish her.

Ramirez says that Kavanaugh thrust his penis in her face when she was a freshman in college.

She told SEVEN people about this before Kavanaugh was a federal judge.

3. And yet the NYT buried the extensive corroboration of Ramirez's story in paragraph 9 of an "opinion" piece and then promoted it with a tweet that said: "Having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun."

5. The GOP is exploiting the NYT's mistakes and its hesitancy to straightforwardly report the story

This was a huge network pushing pro-Trump propaganda with greater reach than the NYT & WashPost popular.info/p/massive-i-lo…

1. A massive Facebook Page called "I Love America" — which has 1.1 million followers — is actually run by Ukrainians

Recently, the page has started pushing caustic pro-Trump propaganda

2. The Ukrainian "I Love America" page is repurposing memes used by the Internet Research Agency, the Russian group highlighted in the Mueller report that interfered in the 2016 election

The big difference is this operation is MUCH BIGGER

3. "I Love America" is part of a complex network of Ukrainian-run Facebook pages that seek to amass large audiences and then funnel them to rabidly pro-Trump pages.

These include pages featuring cute dogs and Jesus

.@kenvogel is OPENLY PLEADING with the Trump campaign to moderate its public rhetoric so he can inflict more damage on Biden in the pages of the NYT

It's DEEPLY unethical

The paper should rebuke it
@kenvogel They key to Vogel's first article published in May, was that Biden was pushing for the ouster of a prosecutor to protect his son.

But that article was debunked by Bloomberg. The Ukrainian investigation into Hunter Biden had already gone dormant.
One reason you know this first Vogel story was a bust is that Trump is pressuring the prez of Ukraine to investigate.

If they had the goods, Trump wouldn't need to break the law to advance the story.

But Vogel isn't focused on that. He's still trying to resuscitate his story

I'm a sociologist who studies adolescent sexual violence. On this thread, I will be live tweeting the #Kavanaugh hearing, chiming in with sociological insights and research findings.
Full disclosure--I will probably step away for parts of it. While many conservatives have cast feminists as people who rejoice at allegations of sexual assault against powerful men, this is a painful process for us. We know survivors. We are survivors. And I will need breaks.
It does not bode well that the beginning of this hearing is starting with equating #Kavanaugh and #Ford's experiences with harassment following Dr. Ford's allegations. They are absolutely not the same.
