/ A lot of people rightfully complain that far too many Congresspeople are in Congress for decades, and such a thing should never happen. It's actually antithetical to the the vision the founders had for our country.
/ But it just dawned on me that the people who seem to be most vocal about people being in Congress for far too long are generally Republicans. So, on a hunch, I did a quick Google search to find the seniority of current Reps & Sens. Here's the House:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seniority…
/ Here's the list of Senate Seniority: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seniority…

Notice any patterns in the two lists? 3 of the 5 most senior Reps and 4 of the 5 most senior Sens are Republicans. 50% of the top 10 in both houses are Republicans. 50% of the top 20 in the Senate are GOP.
/ So here's the question: if Republican voters are so incensed by Congresspeople who serve for decades, then why do they keep voting for the same people over and over and over again? I agree 100% that no one should serve for so long, which is why I back #TermLimits for Congress.
/ But, once again, the rhetoric of the GOP's base doesn't match their actions. They're claiming to want something, but doing the exact inverse. In this way, they're actually reflective of their party; GOP politicians CONSTANTLY promise one thing and then do the inverse.
/ There's a term for such behavior: psychological projection. Republican voters need to heed their own advice and stop voting for the same corrupt people over and over again. They won't help anyone but themselves and their donors. #VoteBlue #VoteOutGOP
