I'm back at the same house. Went wandering in the woods again.

Oh, but before I get to to THAT, the story of how my mother and I went out to visit a lighthouse

in the zombie apocalypse fog

ok so anyway, my mom was like "let's go see the lighthouse!"

and I'm like visibility is like 15 feet so why would we go today

but this was when we had time to go

so we drive way out on this peninsula off the peninsula

peninsulaception, is what I'm saying

the peninsula... dripped southward

so we drive and drive and drive and then we walk and walk and walk and finally we're as far out on the point as you can go

no sign of how we get to the island the lighthouse is on

the waves are doing this weird X thing

tried to upload the video but I have barely any internet, so I guess we're going to do still images only

it's a pretty bleak-looking place

so we're standing there, and the fog comes in, and then this old man drives a tractor with a haycart attached onto the beach

so we're like, hey, how do we get to the island and the lighthouse?

he nods at the cart and tells us to get in

I'm like um what

he's like this is the ferry, this tractor and this cart, I call it the Poseidon

I'm like um what

my mom's like I gotta go back to the car

presumably to reconsider her life choices and I dunno, take out life insurance or something

he's like well, I'm going, you can catch me on the next trip, be back in a bit

and off he goes

apparently there's a causeway just under the water

so we wait

after a while he comes back and is like you ready to go?

and I'm like what happens if there's flooding or something?

and he's like then you stay there

with some trepidation we get in the cart and he drives the tractor into the water and we cross the lake

there is no running water on the island

there is an outhouse

I contemplate sacrificing my mother to whatever spirits are listening so we don't get stuck there

the lighthouse is pretty cool, I guess--the island is probably pretty when it's not super-foggy

The water's very clear

Visibility is seriously like 15 feet though

so we decide to go for a walk in the woods

there are ruins in the woods

so we keep going and there's a tower

WHY IS THIS HERE

and then there's the oubliette

this is a very normal day in very normal Wisconsin
