I can sit here and tell you stories until midnight but let me tell you about this one time when I got a very big campaign. Client had specifically asked for me... #SHOWMUSTGOON

The shoot was going to be over two weeks. I was shooting something for TV and had a few music shows lined up over a few nights #SHOWMUSTGOON

With three jobs which I all needed, during winter, shooting the campaign in ‘summer’ wearing a strappy dress, it wasn’t too long that I got a crazy cold #SHOWMUSTGOON

I had a fever from hell and lost my voice in the middle of shoot. Production went into a state of panic, called client to ask the way forward. Suggestion to replace me was obviously right up there #SHOWMUSTGOON

The client who was based in Cape Town asked a few questions like: has she been great so far? Is she delivering? And I must say the producer was honest and said I was brilliant #SHOWMUSTGOON

Client then told the producers to take a break and told them to tell me that they’d wait for me. I went home, was put on a drip, antibiotics and proper bed rest. It took 8days to get me going again. I was in panic cos I might not get paid. My agent was dying! #SHOWMUSTGOON

We went back to shoot the campaign and it was very successful. When it was time to get paid, I found out that not only did they pay my full fee but they paid crew overtime and extra days while waiting for me.😭😭😭#SHOWMUSTGOON

It was about 10yrs ago and to this day I ask myself who was this client on the other side of the phone who was crazy enough to lose money so he puts me & my health first. When I meet kak people who think of their budget first, I remember the Cape Town client❤️#SHOWMUSTGOON

At times we don’t set out to disappoint you by missing shows or appearances but we get disrespected, undervalued and unpaid. You know how they won’t let you take a product from a shop without paying for it? Exactly. Same thing. #SHOWMUSTGOON
