How come a post like this still exist in our society today #Brunei? Titled "Dream Wedding", the message that comes with it isn't something anyone should be making fun of, not just in defense of women but also what message it brings of Muslim men today. It is embarrassing to see.
And it's worse when they use Firman as their defense. This is not what the Firman means and a complete misuse of the teachings of Islam. This group Kern Hani obviously needs to be taught of not just how society works today but also understanding what it means to be a Muslim.
Really #Brunei? Really?
If Kern & Hani doesn't take their post off, I urge people to put pressure on their event partners. HD Studio has taken off their advert but is that enough?
And as of this post, there is 124 likes? Why is that happening?
And then there is this. What a distasteful and inconsiderate joke. So embarrassing to even read a post like this #Brunei
Deactivate comment lagi
So Kern & Hani blocked the comments for this post instagram.com/p/B2qA5ADhY_O/… But didn't remove it. A very cowardly move. Well done.

Oh btw, please share this #Brunei
You know what a lot of people don't understand? Yes, this Kern and Hani situation is sexist. Yes, it misogynistic. But it also contributes to defining who we are as Bruneians. It adds to our reputation in #Brunei, the kind of society we have. Is this what we want to define us?
Some people laugh at this, jokes around watching, picking up their imaginary popcorn as if this is entertaining. What you are doing is supporting Kern and Hani with their "entertainment" and therefore contributing to pulling #Brunei's society to 100 years back.
Look at it this way too.

Women, understand that men who laugh or joke at this post by Kern & Hani can't be trusted. It shows they have the tendency to be unfaithful, even if they don't show it, it's in their minds.
And you know what's so appalling about this post by this emcee_firdausibrahim person? There he is trying to promote confidence as a public speaker and yet here he is suppressing the very thing he is trying to promote.
So they've finally taken it down and "apologised". However, IMO, Just because they apologised it doesn't mean we should stop here.

The comments, the likes, the reactions from people to the original post tell a lot about our society. It is sad. We need to make a change.
Today it's Kern and Hani. Tomorrow it'll be someone else. And then people will laugh and joke about it. And then they apologise. The cycle repests. #Brunei
And then there are comments like these... Really? #Brunei
Was reading quite a number of angry comments on the Kern & Hani apology post but what caught my eyes are how some people are applauding their marketing strategy, using controversy as a hook to increase traffic - "sure they did that but it's brilliant".
It's scary that we now live in a society where people focus on numbers no matter what it does to others. This is what Kern & Hani have done. And when people applaud this, I fear they have started a dark trend others will follow. And that is scary.
