Ok I decided to try post some #itjobs from Job Centre Brunei. Consider this experimental and no guarantee I'll post these in a timely manner, as monitoring this is done manually (there is no RSS feed boooo)

Grateful for our subsidised healthcare in #Brunei but, after experiencing 2 nights stay at #RIPAS, there is still a lot that needs to be improved. Backstory: Been experiencing chest discomfort since last week which has been lingering for few days.
Decided to get it checked out at a private clinic since I didn’t feel like I was in pain / require urgent care. Clinic advised to get a “ECG stress test” done (running on treadmill) instead of the regular ECG which set me back $180.
Felt hesitant but thought since I’m here, might as well find out if there is something wrong with my heart. Upon completion, the clinic dr said my reading is off and would require “further checking” which can only be done at RIPAS. Got a referral letter to A&E. Cue the panic.

How come a post like this still exist in our society today #Brunei? Titled "Dream Wedding", the message that comes with it isn't something anyone should be making fun of, not just in defense of women but also what message it brings of Muslim men today. It is embarrassing to see.
And it's worse when they use Firman as their defense. This is not what the Firman means and a complete misuse of the teachings of Islam. This group Kern Hani obviously needs to be taught of not just how society works today but also understanding what it means to be a Muslim.
Really #Brunei? Really?

I’m far from a #Brunei expert/reporter (ping @ainbandial @tashny) but I’m seeing international media report the sultan’s announcement about the moratorium of the #deathpenalty as a “dramatic U-turn” and… that doesn’t seem quite right.
@ainbandial @tashny The truth is that #Brunei has been listed as "de facto abolitionist” when it comes to the #deathpenalty, which means that, while capital punishment is still in law, it hasn’t actually been practised (i.e. no executions) for at least 10 years.
@ainbandial @tashny While I find it interesting the sultan felt the need to come out and reiterate the moratorium—and do think that international pressure had something to do with it—calling it a “u-turn” obscures the fact that not carrying out executions isn’t a new thing, but long established.

@EricHolder has asked an important question:

#When was #America #ever #great?

I realize that there is a nearly unavoidable tendency to snort and spew one's coffee when they hear or read his question for the first time. But, honestly, isn't it worth the exercise to answer it?
So, @EricHolder, I'm going to do just that, and I'm going to ask my ragtag bag of followers and detractors to contribute as well.

I'm going to offer my evidence of moments of American greatness. And I'm going to ask those that read this thread to do the same.
But wait!

There's more!

I'm going to ask my detractors and antagonists (are you seeing this @fedupaton) to contribute as well, and will welcome from them both moments of greatness and moments of shame.

Where can you donate good clothing to?

You can send to:
- KACA
- SMARTER Brunei
- Sukarelawan Tutong, Daerah Tutong

Other NGOs or government body do make calls for donations when there are fire or flooding victims, local and overseas.
Oh, you can also give to foreign labour workers. They would usually appreciate as they sometimes buy from garage sale.

Adakah Melayu itu pendatang?

Ini adalah untaian. Sila baca dengan tenang.

#Melayu #Malay #Sejarah #History #Malaysia #Indonesia #Brunei #thread

For the record @Diplomat_APAC , Tiffany Teo is Singaporean not Bruneian. Although she was born in Brunei and lived here briefly as an expat, she identifies as Singaporean, and competes for Singapore, as is stated in @MarcusChhan’s stories for @thescoop_co
And idk where to begin w/ this shallow, misinformed interpretation of the state of women in Brunei. Maybe next time, idk, try talking to some actual Bruneian women. I guess we’re too busy being repressed to speak for ourselves, need other people to speak on our behalf. NO THANKS.
Bruneian women have been telling their stories for a long time, but if those stories aren’t published in western media, they don’t exist right?
