Reporters should ask Pelosi why she won't support existing process of impeachment because she claims it won't succeed and instead proposes changing the law to indict a sitting president - how is that more realistic or attainable?

Look, if they want to impeach Trump there’s nothing you can do about it. Stop fretting over it. Let them go ahead and waste time and impanel committees and come up with articles of impeachment and discuss it and debate it while the country barely notices the anticlimax.
Under the rules of the Constitution if House Democrats want to impeach the president based on the color of his hair so long as they have a majority such will be done. It is a political process that has nothing to do with law or reason and is not subject to judicial review.
The sole focus of their thunder has been in the lead up to #Impeachment. Notice what I said: the lead up. What America will not be able to sustain or focus on or remain awake over is the actual process that will grind interminably nor will they be able to withstand the rebuttal.

You know, things like "the Senate won't convict..." "It's too divisive..." "Trump is goading Dems..." and so on.

FACT: It doesn't matter what the Senate does. The Constitution demands impeachment.
SPIN: Democrats need to gather more evidence to make an airtight case for impeachment.

A note on #impeachment -

In a court of law, under non-presidential circumstances, impeachment is a tool litigation attorneys use to discredit the opposing side's witnesses at trial. When said witness takes the stand under oath attys. present evidence contrary to what the witness
claims. This weakens the other side's case by discrediting impeached witnesses's testimony. Once a witness has been impeached - by presentment of inconsistent testimony - the judge/jury can no longer use the impeached witnesses's testimony in reaching a verdict.
Simply put, they aren't trustworthy. In the case of Presidential impeachment that broad definition of impeachment applies, but the impeachment tool is used for a very different purpose. Under the Constitution, a sitting President cannot be tried in a court of law for anything.
