Here’s a fun thought experiment. The identity of the whistleblower is going to be public within the week. I’m just taking that for granted. The identities of the folks at the WH/NSC from whom he was hearing concerns will be, if not public, easy for WH to reverse engineer.
This morning Trump said he thinks the people who talked to the whistleblower—those White House/NSC staff—are traitors who ought to be executed. What incentives do these facts now create for those staffers?
(I can think of several plausible answers; most of them imply things continuing to get more interesting.)
