I'm up in DC so I'm not on my PC but a little more on this: first off, all the old opinion on impeachment is no longer relevant, & the the Ds are absolutely right to keep things focus only on this Ukraine scandal, which is as bad as it gets for a sitting potus & required action
Keep in mind, we're looking at a multiple stage conspiracy that implicates the AG in the scandal & the cover up, and the VP. And the issue itself is TERRIBLE & involves national security and it was reinforced via action, not just some idle threat or words.
So when we look at previous public opinion on Trump impeachment, it's completely irrelevant. Once we get the data on this, it's going to look different. That said, and this hurts me as an American to say, no matter how terrible Trump & his admin's actions were, the GOP is still

The GOP to uphold the rule of law is going to have a massive effect on Dem and left leaning Indie turnout, which was already going to be so strong. The electoral backlash is going to massive. Bc people are going to be terrified.
