I so wish a House committee would subpoena one mid-level attorney in the Office of Legal Counsel and then make an absolute example of them.

Cite them with contempt. Make them a household name. Put them in the spotlight. Go after their license.

And then subpoena the rest.
There aren’t a lot of people with the courage to be whistleblowers.

There also aren’t a lot of people with the courage to become public pariahs famous for tossing their reputation down the toilet for a shitty public sector job that would ruin their private sector future.
Ruin just one complicit little turd.

Drag them out of the anonymity of an org chart and right into the cover of every paper in the country.

Then cordially invite others to come in of their own accord or walk the plank too.

I know I’ve been beating the drum about the dynamics within a narcissist’s inner circle all week.

Those dynamics are important right now though... and they’re just so karmically delicious.

They’re worth savoring.

As I’ve written about in the past, I worked for a severe narcissist like Trump.

He weaponized all the same tools Trump does: secrecy, fear, isolation of non-believers, banishing detractors.

It was extremely toxic but effective... until it wasn’t.

A narcissist maintains sway over their inner circle in a number of ways.

One of them is by focusing each member of the flock on only the narcissist’s favor or disfavor.

They lull people into worrying only about where they stand with the narc.

okay, Austria has elections today and I thought I'd give my international followers a bit of a heads up

first off the parties:

SPÖ: center-left
ÖVP: opportunist, currently center-right, but could change quickly
NEOS: lolbertarians basically
Greens: far-left
FPÖ: true right
after a scandal in may, new elections were called

the FPÖ lost due to the scandal, but regained a bit, the SPÖ also lost some points, the ÖVP initially made gains, but they slowly dripped away, the NEOS only had a short burst, and the Greens have made good gains
this is the latest opinion poll from today

the last week has been the media bashing the FPÖ constantly, coming up with ever new ways to defame them, but it seems this had little to no impact

opinion polls are usually fairly accurate here

QB1 Matthew Stafford

He always looks good in camp. He looks slimmer, which may have been an intentional choice but might give me a little pause considering he's coming off a back injury and the OL still has a lot of question marks.

Barring another injury, I still expect top 15.
QB2 Tom Savage

He has looked better than any QB2 in years. There has been no battle for QB2 and unless Savage gets hurt, he'll be the only other quarterback on the roster. He has a really nice arm, and unlike his Texans tape he has been quite accurate throughout camp, mostly.

Okay, listen up. This is not a drill. Ivan Golunov, my colleague at @meduzaproject, one of the best investigative reporters in the industry, was arrested yesterday after leaving work (I was with him before he left). He is now awaiting formal charges at a remand prison in Moscow.
The allegations against Ivan brought forward by the investigators are simply ludicrous. Police claim Golunov, an award-winning investigative journalist, was moonlighting as a Walter-White-level meth kingpin from his Moscow apartment. It's clearly a fabrication.
But it's an extremely serious charge that carries 10 to 20 years in prison. There's no debate about this: Ivan is being targeted for his courageous, thorough but never reckless or unethical investigations into crime and corruption at the the highest levels of Russian state.
