Elizabeth Warren said she was sexually harassed by a former colleague at work. A "senior faculty member" when she was just a "baby law professor."

He slammed the door, lunged for her and chased her around his desk trying to get his hands on her.
She pleaded with him, "You don't want to do this... you don't want to do this... I have little children at home. Please don't do this..."

This was publicized as a frightening and empowering story at the height of #MeToo movement.
But the former colleague in question, was handicapped from polio disease the entire time. He walked with difficulty.

When Warren eulogized him at his memorial service in 1997, she spoke fondly of her alleged assailant.

Here's what John Mixon (former colleague of both) had to say about Smith's physical condition at the time.
Warren has told this story multiple times over the last two decades, with varying degrees of seriousness.

From lighthearted to traumatic.

We can't possibly know for sure if Warren was telling the truth about this sexual harassment incident, or embellishing for attention.

But she does have a history of exaggeration.

Exaggerated Cherokee roots.

Exaggerated her parents' history and said they eloped.

Exaggerates her ability to "fix" America with her "plans."

More recently, exaggerated in her prediction of the next economic crash.
"It feels a little Trumpian in the sense that only 'I alone can come and fix it', this crisis that is about to happen."
