Today’s shooting in Hong Kong marks an unacceptable escalation in the Chinese Communist Party’s assault on the people of Hong Kong and their peaceful protests against tyranny.
This violence occurred against the backdrop of China’s systematic campaign to undermine Hong Kong’s freedom and autonomy, against which the United States has already begun to push back.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed legislation that incorporated my Hong Kong Policy Reevaluation Act, which strengthens monitoring of Chinese encroachment related to extradition, sanctions enforcement & export controls & broader issues related to Hong Kong’s autonomy.
I call on the Senate to expeditiously take it up and for Congress to send it to the president for his signature. The people of Hong Kong are engaged in an existential battle over what the future of Hong Kong will look like. They should know America stands with them.

Since the day @realDonaldTrump was elected, congressional Democrats have been working to find any reason under the sun to impeach the president and undo the results of the last election. First, it was Mueller, then the Mueller report found no collusion. Now it’s Ukraine.
Next month, it will be something else.

Despite the wild speculations from the media, career intelligence community staffers, and congressional Democrats, the actual transcript of the call reveals no illegal quid pro quo.
Nevertheless, the facts don’t matter to Democrats. The 2020 Dem presidential candidates will continue to call for the president’s impeachment & @SpeakerPelosi will continue to be hounded by the far left of her caucus to halt all other legislative work to focus on attacking POTUS.

This weekend’s devastating attacks on Saudi Arabia were designed to try to pressure @realDonaldTrump into reducing his administration’s pressure campaign against the Iranian regime.
The Ayatollah’s attacks, in turn, were enabled by the catastrophic Obama-Iran nuclear deal, which enriched Iran with hundreds of billions of dollars in sanctions relief and cash, while gutting international restrictions against Iran’s weapons and ballistic missile development.
Now is absolutely not the time to reduce economic pressure on Iran. Instead POTUS should order his admin to redouble its efforts to roll back the largesse of the deal.

The NBC reporters questioned the religious beliefs of some of our @EpochTimes staff members, sought to discredit their beliefs, attacked our journalism based on personal opinion rather than objective analysis, and even sought out information on the personal lives of our staff.
Unfortunately, the bane of #Journalism today is the all-too-common practice of writing news to conform to a pre-existing narrative or agenda. The best journalism of the past had the truth as its standard, not political advantage.

Students made roads impassable by setting up barricades to block the army, so I got on my bicycle & pedaled furiously toward the gunfire. I reached Tiananmen Square shortly before the army & I watched as soldiers fired their automatic weapons directly at the crowd that I was in.
