Hey, I'm seeing this a lot in my mentions so I wanted to clarify some things:

Did you never stop to wonder why Terry and this system are at just about every retro video game show? Why this guy is proudly touring this around? It's because - and this is straight from him - he's increasing the system's value by keeping it in the spotlight.
Every selfie anyone has ever taken with the unit and posted on the internet, every tweet about it, every time people get him to sign their games (they really do this) - this is all playing in to Terry getting the highest price he can for this one-of-a-kind artifact.
Touring the system around and getting people to talk about it is, literally, Terry's part-time job. He is convinced that he will eventually sell the system to a private collector for at least $3 million dollars, as long as he keeps working at inflating its value.
As nice as it would be for the system to end up in a museum, as nice as it would be to crowdfund purchasing it so that it's permanently preserved - it's out of the price range of anyone but the elite. The only hope we have is for a very rich person to buy it and donate it.
And yes, this. By god what we could do with $3 million.
