House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff received early information about the accusations against President Trump made by an intelligence community whistleblower even before the official complaint was filed.

The anonymous whistleblower went to a House Intelligence Committee aide and expressed his concerns about Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president that has since resulted in an official impeachment probe.

“Like other whistle-blowers have done before and since under Republican and Democrat-controlled committees, the whistle-blower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intel community,” said spokesman for Schiff.

Which is just more bullshit from @RepAdamSchiff.

The Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act states EXACTLY how to file a complaint and EXACT procedures to follow. Contacting Congress members is allowed AFTER a complaint is deemed NOT of "urgent concern" by the IG

And that's allowed only after informing the IG of his/her intention to do so.

In addition, it is the DNI's responsibility to forward the complaint to Congress if the complaint is of "urgent concern" - NOT THE WHISTLEBLOWER'S.
