It's bad enough the mostly rich, mostly Californian buyers of EVs get hefty federal tax breaks. It's even worse that thousands of people who *are ineligible* are also claiming credits.
It's hard to tell from the report what exactly is going because of the heavy redactions.

Looks like people are claiming the credit for unqualified vehicles. Also claiming on leased vehicles, which causes a duplicate payment because leasing company makes the valid claim.

This is the impeachment inquiry resolution from 1998, which is eminently reasonable.
And it is a stark contrast to the Democrats' star chamber inquiry taking place in a SCIF in the Intel committee, which makes me wonder why House Judiciary even exists.
I hope some House member with integrity will reintroduce the above inquiry resolution and start a DISCHARGE PETITION to put all House members on the record on how this process should be conducted.
