If any "former or current" officials of the White House would like to speak to me in confidence and explain why they leak this way--what's motivating them to shoot to wound but not kill--please get in touch. I think it would be an interesting article,
and it would add (for a change) something useful to our understanding of this mess. I'd of course respect your desire to remain anonymous, but I'd like to ask you, "Given what you say about the President to the Washington Post,
why haven't you resigned and gone on the record with your concerns? Do you believe that you're keeping the president from behaving in a way even *more* damaging to our national security? Are you frightened for your safety and that of your family?
Do you feel it is wrong to violate the President's confidence? (But if so, why are you doing it?) What is your objective in revealing this information to the media, what do you hope happens as a result? How likely do you think that is?
You're describing a man who is clearly endangering our national security. You would be taken much more seriously if you put your name on this account. How are you weighing your concern for our national security--and your vow to support and uphold the Constitution--
against, perhaps, the thought that nothing you say will make a real difference, that your career will be ended and your life destroyed by speaking out, that it could put your kids at risk and bankrupt you?

What do Americans need to do to help you speak on the record?
Can we establish some kind of program to protect employees of the Trump Administration who warn us about the way he's behaving? Can we establish a fund for employees in your position to cushion the blow of unemployment and loss of health insurance,
pay your legal fees, provide you with security at your home and when you're outside? Counselling? You must be under extraordinary stress. Perhaps we could set up a fund for employees in this position to speak to a cleared therapist?
