The Dallas PD want you to believe 3 ppl traveled over 4 hrs to kill Joshua Brown over weed though he had no history of drug dealing, that they then *left* the weed behind, AND that this all coincidentally happened right after the trial in which he was a witness.

It's insulting.

I think some things are being conflated. Botham Jean’s brother has every right to hug, forgive, and grieve in any way he sees fit.

But his personal decision to extend forgiveness does not absolve this woman of what she’s done.

Forgiveness & absolution are two different things.
Someone making the decision to forgive you does not mean you are no longer accountable for what you’ve done.

It also doesn’t mean that all other ppl should be expected to engage in forgiveness the same way.

Botham’s brother experienced a tragedy & did what felt right for him.
The brother of Botham Jean is the last person who should be subjected to derision right now. The very last.

I was speaking with a black wedding planner in the South & she said that she & her friends lose money bc they refuse to work with couples who want to have their weddings at plantations.

She said they were forced to choose between a check & their dignity.

Some wedding planners have even told me that there are so many requests for wedding plantations, that some places--that aren't actually plantations--will purposefully attempt to makes themselves look like one, and even give themselves a plantation name, to bring in new business.
Imagine some place in Germany attempting to make itself look like a concentration camp because there was such a high volume of requests to have weddings at former concentration camp venues.

People get married at places like this across the US every day.

Shout out to all of the teachers spending their Sunday afternoons lesson planning. You all work harder than most people will ever know.
For most teachers Sunday afternoons are full of grading & lesson planning & more grading & more lesson planning. People rarely see or understand that reality.

I have so much appreciation & admiration for all the teachers who sacrifice part of their weekends for their students.
*whispers*

we should also create systems & structures within schools so that teachers have the time, resources, and support they need so they don’t have to use so much of their personal time to do these things in the first place

Another day at the palace means another day to conform to their standards. This was never how Joohyun wanted to live her life. Paparazzis everywhere and everyone updating on her life. The only way to keep them out was to be cold towards them.
The highlight of her everyday was helping out in the orphanage run by nuns in the outskirts of the city. Where she goes by the name ‘Irene’.

It is where she becomes herself without the worry of people following her every move.

Before I start on the places, the history around all this is fascinating & splits opinion. Is it apt to call the script Tamili/Tamil Brahmi? Did it develop independently in the Tamil country/come with the Jain monks from the north? Were 8,000 Jains actually impaled in Madurai?>
