Tomorrow, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in 2 cases challenging the Trump Admin’s authority to take #Medicaid away from people who don’t meet work requirements or pay premiums. But the evidence is mounting that these waivers are harmful. (thread)
Here’s what we know: a federal district court already blocked #Medicaid waivers in AR, KY, & NH that would have allowed the states to take coverage away from people who didn’t meet work requirements and imposed other coverage restrictions.
The DC Circuit will hear the federal government’s appeal of those decisions tomorrow. In the meantime, CMS has continued to approve similar waivers in other states — despite the growing evidence showing their harm.

The trouble started after one second-grader gave another some of the play money. The classmate tried to use it for lunch in the cafeteria, & before long, the Prince George’s County police were called. Then, the U.S. Secret Service. “They treated it like a counterfeit scheme.”

1) Some thoughts on how the Trump administration can improve government - specifically the civil service. (6/15/19)
2) The first thing to recognize is that the civil service has become an impediment to the smooth functioning of the country.
3) This may sound strange and even suspicious coming from a civil servant. But I don’t propose to do away with the institution, only to transform it into a more effective body of workers.

In Arkansas, the only state to take coverage away from people not meeting a work requirement, more than 1 in 5 people have lost #Medicaid coverage under this policy.
