Things I learned:
1) Pelosi wrote the intelligence community Whistleblower law.
2) she considers herself a master weaver, which if you know Greek/Roman mythology...
3) per her kids, the more you yell at her, the calmer she gets
Also having five kids in six years and then slowly becoming the most powerful woman in the country is...impressive

Hello @CNN when you make your 12 analysts—and candidates—sit on high bar stools, you are intentionally choosing a set design that makes women chose between whatever they want to wear and what is practical/non-sexualized to wear.
@CNN some serious Roger Ailes bullshit has been institutionalized across networks including but not limited to:
-sets designed to show women's legs
-sleeevless dresses for all women
-Mini Mouse fake eyelashes
If even ONE network were run by a woman they would be banished tomorrow. Along with plexiglass “desks”

Overall, meh.

Not much about candidates or their positions as just untenable format.

They all took shots at Warren, who had some stumbles but was fine. Biden did not convince on his areas of concern. Bernie looked healthy but idk expanded.
In "second tier" I think Pete, Harris, Booker all had some very good moments.
Biden taking credit for Warren's accomplishments at CFPB may be the moment that's passed around the most?

No matter what I think it's good that @BetoORourke and @PeteButtigieg are flashing over with the anger re gun violence THAT WE ALL FEEL.
@BetoORourke @PeteButtigieg Fast improvement over last election cycle where it was very little time spent to issue. Sad the issue (any issue) only gets coverage in primary debates re interparty fights but still AIR THE DAMN ISSUES
@BetoORourke @PeteButtigieg Kamala is really putting a button on this part of the debate

But the lit has many problems.

The 🔑 conceptual problem:

The lit nicely documents 😀 returns to baseline after some time. Almost regardless of improvements/decrements in material circumstances.

(And baseline seems to be largely genetically determined.)
That’s the key finding. The central claim in the lit.

What Santos focuses on in her 1st 2 episodes.

What Gilbert focuses on in his book.

Namely, success and failures don’t really matter. Cause we adjust. Working hard, making 💰, isn’t worthwhile b/c it won’t matter in the end.

All rejected!! 😫

But I kept on trying... 🙇‍♀️

Persevering!! 🐘

And I was especially keen for this paper to be accepted there, hopefully encouraging more studies in this field! 😊🙌🏞🏙

Studies of social change typically look at individual- or country-level characteristics

This omits the #places we live in.

In subnational comparisons, we see faster social change in cities.

Why?

And what does it tell us about the drivers of social change?
