Sondland says the transcripts he saw of the July 25 call were scrubbed of any mention of Biden.

He didn't see the full exchange until the White House publicly released it on September 25.
His words: "None of the brief and general call summaries I received contained any mention of Burisma or former Vice President Biden, nor even suggested that President Trump had made any kind of request of President Zelensky."

Republicans are trying to draw a line btw investigating the Russia investigation/2016 election and investigating Joe Biden.

For them, looking into whether the Russian investigation was a "hoax," is OK.

But the Biden stuff is bad.
Leaving aside that their "investigation of the investigators" is an exercise in magical thinking that insults the US Intelligence Committee ...

They seem to be missing a piece of Giuliani's crackpot theory ...
When he talks about investigating the 2016 election and "Ukrainian collusion," he's talking about Biden.

Sondland says Trump was initially skeptical of the new Ukrainian regime, and told him and others at a May meeting at the White House to talk to Giuliani: "It was apparent to all of us that the key to changing the President’s mind on Ukraine was Mr. Giuliani."
Sondland said he, Rick Perry, and Kurt Volker were "disappointed" Trump directed them to talk to Giuliani, but decided to do it because they believed in importance of strengthening US-Ukraine ties. He said he didn't realize Giuliani's Biden angle "until much later"

One thing these Avenatti charges underline is that federal law enforcement can move quickly when it wants to, even in white collar matters. It appears all the charged conduct happened in March 2019. It's still March 2019.

Here's Rick Gates' now-unsealed motion to file an exhibit under seal. "The exhibit involves highly sensitive matters concerning" Gates, his lawyers wrote. The judge ordered him to file a redacted version, so we should be getting that at some point assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4368…
Rick Gates' lawyers are due in court at 10:30am for a sealed hearing on their motion to withdraw as his counsel. The exhibit that explains the reasons for that request to withdraw remains under seal.
There are a couple things going on: Rick Gates' lawyers want to withdraw. We don't know why -- the reasons are under seal. In notifying the court that they served Gates with that motion, they included an exhibit, which Gates asked to be filed under seal -- in a sealed motion 1/2
