It may not seem like it, but 2 years will pass, then 10, 50, 100, 500... Time takes a while, but cannot be stopped. Take the time to make yourself the person you want to be, and who your family needs you to be. There is no end to life, just a transition to the next realm.
When I was teenager, I thought that learning the piano would take forever. It may take years to get good. But then I thought, years are going to pass no matter what I do. Might as well have them pass and know the piano, rather than not.
