Slow night, so let's burn some time with an #8kun tinfoil thread:

What if @HW_BEAT_THAT is actually still employed by JW?

#8chan #qanon

1/
Not as a dev, but as a kind of 'kayfabe spoil'. Even call it "PR/marketing". The purpose would be to gin up awareness of the new site via internet drama and MSM coverage, and use public means of stability testing the site while it gears up for launch.

2/
8chan being knocked off CloudFlare was a surprise to everyone, since they had consistently held such a strong pro-free-speech stance. They went from defending 8chan to knocking it offline within a single week. This was a slight, and a betrayal.

3/
Perhaps JW decided to go on a crusade of his own - against ISPs who are willing to curtail legal freedoms just to save their good graces among the media elite

He could be using 8kun as a poison pill to 'out' such ISPs, and highlight their weakness (see Alibaba whackamole)

4/
This would fit in with the 'embrace infamy' motto of the 8chan site. Any press is good press.

Also, this theory is supported by the fact that HW refuses to discuss his financial situation for the past 3 years since he "quit 8chan". Nobody knows how HW is making ends meet.

5/
It's possible HW is receiving disability checks from USA while living in PH (that's legal, but tedious), but could that pay for "an apartment in a gated community"+living expenses for him and his wife?

He no longer needs to pay for a personal attendant, since he married his.

6/
We know form his own words and actions that he's not getting money from:

- fonts, not monetized
- his font creation software, freeware
- media interviews, "$0"
- freelance programming, no website since 2017, no promotion whatsoever

7/
We also notice that there has been no hard pushback on HW from Jim, Ron, or anybody else (AFAIK) directly involved with 8chan. The resistance HW is receiving is almost entirely from 8chan users, and unrelated free speech advocates. Grassroots support growing.

8/
Meanwhile, the liberal MSM and silicon valley tech media - which the typical 8chan user hates - are suddenly in love with HW, giving him interview articles quite frequently since August 2019.

Their motive for doing so is obvious. HW as a character is the perfect 'anti-hero'

9/
The creator of the beast, now reformed after witnessing "its atrocities", repenting and self flagellating very loudly at the altar of political correctness and cancel culture.

It's literally a story too good to be true.

10/
And the MSM makes sure to keep it that way, steering VERY clear of discussions which could muddy the waters such as HW's actions and beliefs when he owned and operated the site. The non-moderation of CP, etc.

11/
MSM also never bothers to go into the reason HW made 8chan to begin with - out of anger over m00t censoring 4chan content he deemed "bad for the image" of the site.

The hypocrisy and irony are never discussed.
Nor is the problem of denying platform to legal speech.

12/
And in the end we get a cohesive narrative that shows 8chan's mission is as vital as ever.

We get a galvanized base just in time for 2020 elections.

We get impassioned discussion of better solutions to platform stability (decentralization).

Thanks @HW_BEAT_THAT!
