So I had a very ugly experience yesterday with peace mass. I should have done this thread yesterday. Please spread this because most times we just hear of accidents not knowing what really occurred and the role the drivers play. Cc: @UgwunnaEjikem @AfamDeluxo @forehead4three
I have video evidence which I will also post.
I boarded a bus from Peace park, old park Enugu going to Umuahia.
We left the park around 2pm and drove for just 5mins and the driver said his brake wasn't functioning properly and as such he had to transload us to another bus.
We waited for 30mins and they sent us a bus. The new bus arrived and the first thing all the passengers noticed was that the new driver was drunk and smelled of alcohol. We alerted the driver transferring us and he said we will be fine. I posted it ystday
He instantly became hostile, and started talking about passengers paying him extra hundred naira else he won't drop anyone till will get to the park. As he was talking you could perceive the alcohol and we kept protesting but our original driver pleaded with us to board the bus.
We finally boarded and drove for like 2mins and he decided to go buy fuel and immediately we got to the filling station, this guy started fighting the vehicle in front of us.
At this point, it became obvious to all of us that the man was dead drunk, as you could hear the terrified passengers agitating to get down from the bus, as we didn't want to put our lives in the hands of a drunk man. We even called peace mass office but didn't get any response.
As he bought fuel and wanted to proceed, we cautioned him and asked him to calm down and drive easily. Next thing the man picked offense o, started cussing everybody saying why should we tell him to calm down, that since we wanted him to be calm, he will drive calmly and this man
proceeded to drive with speed 40 that since we want calmness thats the fastest he will go. Even as passengers tried to plead with him, he insisted and continued with speed 40.
We drove like that from Enugu town till we got into the express this man was still driving with 40. Anybody that tries to talk to him, he will insult you and say all sorts, saying if we like we can call peace owner and report him, he doesn't care.
People of God majority of us Umuahia wasn't our last stop as I was still going to Uyo alongside others. Mind you it was getting to almost 5 by this time and we were not even close to UNTH for someone that was going to Uyo.
We all kept pleading asking this man to increase his
Speed a little and he kept saying No, that we want him to be calm that he will be calm even if we get to Umuahia by midnight. We all eventually got fed up and everyone started throwing insults at him. We got to Lokpa and this nigga was still adamant driving with 40 and crawling
We started trying to alert police men in their checkpoints but they didn't even realise it. We eventually got the attention of some police men who now parked us and started questioning the driver. He kept insisting that we we're the ones that asked him to drive that way.
I showed the policeman the video I made to prove the man was drunk and he lost it. Almost attacked me in front of officers because he didn't realize I made a video of him. The policemen instructed him to drive faster and take us to Umuahia since most of us were going to Uyo.
We eventually continued the journey and that was even worse. This man kept crawling and now focused all his abuses on me because I made a video. All the passengers were fed up and asked me to send the videos to them so we can show peace mass and the public how their drivers act.
Unfortunately my phone went off and I couldn't make more videos, but the scariest aspect was when this man, a public transport driver stated clearly, that if anybody speaks to him again, he will run us into a ditch and if anybody survives we should call him bastard. I froze.
We all kept quiet fearing the worst because in his drunken state, he could have carried out his threat. And I was scared to bits. All these while this man didn't increase his speed and kept bragging that we should take the videos anywhere that nothing can happen to him not even
owner of peace can collect the bus from him. He kept threatening me that I can't do shit with my video. We passed a decomposing corpse and this man legit told me that this will be my case very soon that he can tumble the bus and everyone will die. A peace mass driver oo.
I don't know how peace select their drivers but the man is a ticking time bomb looking for whom to kill with himself. He has not mentally fit and has an alcohol problem. We always hear accident involving peace mass and it brings my attention to the mental health of the drivers,
Who screens them?
Who selects them?
I don't know who to tag to ensure that this man doesn't drive people again. He was rude, uncouth, suicidal and drunk at once. Please share and retweet till someone that can fish him out sees this. His name is Doc and the vehicle was 796.
His route is Enugu to Umuahia and he shouldn't be allowed to drive people ever again. We eventually got to Umuahia around 8,after leaving enugu by 2 And I couldn't get to Uyo yesterday. Please spread this before people fall victim to this man.
@PMTNigeria Investigate this. Please tag them
