Last night, President Jair Bolsonaro was very publicly linked to the murder of Marielle Franco, and then lashed out wildly at former political allies, and the country's most important TV station. This is going to keep rocking Brazilian politics today
It was already known that the Bolsonaro family had some acquaintance with the suspects. But last night, the @jornalnacional show revealed the security guard said that on the day of the murder, the alleged killers said they were going to Bolsonaro's house www1.folha.uol.com.br/cotidiano/2019…
In response, Bolsonaro does what he knows best: from Saudi Arabia, he went on Facebook Live at 4am. He loses it, and on Brazilian social media I've seen the video widely compared the Hitler bunker scene in "Downfall" m.facebook.com/story.php?stor… 
During his Facebook rant, two verbal explosions are particularly noteworthy. 1. He calls Rio governor Witzel an "enemy" and insinuate some grand conspiracy against him. And 2. He threatens Globo, the hugely important network, with the non-renewal of its public TV license
That's right - the security guard said one suspect said he was going to Bolsonaro's house, then entered and went to meet with the other suspect instead. The guard said he called Bolsonaro's house to check and someone (he says it was Jair) said it was fine
But everyone is concentrating now on Bolsonaro's unhinged reaction. He basically declared war on a very conservative former ally in Rio, and threatened to do a Hugo Chávez (the Venezuelan President famously let a major TV license lapse in 2007) on the influential TV Globo
But of course. Bolsonaro has instructed his Justice Minister (Sérgio Moro, the same that imprisoned Lula and removed him from the running for the Presidency) to take a "new statement" from the security guard
