DISCOVER THE SECRETS TO WRITING AN IRRESISTIBLE COVER LETTER

I have always said here that your CV MUST be accompanied by a cover letter.

This is as a matter of necessity.

Your CV entails who you are and what you have accomplished.

Your cover letter entails WHAT YOU CAN DO.
Take note of 10 SIGNIFICANT POINTS TO NOTE WHILE WRITING A COVER LETTER.

1. Before you write, you must carry out thorough research of the company. Never assume!

2. Your cover should be written as a business letter

3. Your cover letter should not be MORE THAN ONE PAGE.
4. FONT:

FONT SIZE: Not less than 10, not more than 12

RECOMMENDED FONT STYLES

Tahoma
Times New Roman
Verdana
Garamond
5. Be creative while writing a Cover letter. Show the recruiter how creative you are.

Instead of saying 'I am a very good social media marketer'

SAY...
Say: 'as a social media marketer for 5 years with PENAFFAIRS LTD, I manage many digital media outlets by implementing new social media marketing tactics. In the past year, I have doubled our audience on Facebook and tripled our followers on Twitter.''
7. Use simple language. Avoid professional jargon.

8. Do not lie or exaggerate

9. Write your cover letter like you are writing a story

10. Make it appealing and eye-catching.
Now, you must understand that a cover letter has the potential to make your profiles intriguing to your prospective employer so you must be thorough and selective with words.
One thing you must note is that you cannot have a general cover letter. Every job demands a unique cover letter than matches with the job descriptions.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE COVER LETTER

1. SALUTATION

Do not use Dear sir, dear madam.

Do proper research to know the name of the recruiter or HR manager.

If after all your research, you couldn't determine the name of the recruiter.

Then confirm the job title
Eg. Dear HR Manager
The first paragraph is your mission statement.

Explain why you are applying to the company, what position you are applying for, and what motivated you to apply.
3. Second paragraph

Detail what you have to offer the company. Make sure the skills you mention here are connected with the job.

4. THIRD PARAGRAPH

Detail your accomplishments, qualifications here
5. CLOSING
Always close with your professional and personal goals.

Then thank them for taking time to read your CV and cover letter.

Finally, tell them you are ready for an interview.

Eg: 'I am excited to offer more information as I'm looking forward to speaking with you'
