A friend just sent me the National Weather Service's flood data for Charleston. When I was a kid, Charleston averaged between 9 and 19 flood tides a year. It now averages more than 40 a year.

Just look at that spike there at the end.

Charleston's at the point where roads sometimes are closed due to flooding on sunny days...during a drought.
JUST THIS YEAR THERE HAS BEEN ONE FLOOD EVENT EVERY FIVE DAYS IN CHARLESTON

The next time you pay a private company for the privilege of paying your taxes, remember that this is a uniquely American grift. In most other comparable countries, filing your taxes is simple and free for most people.
But a system like that would mean financial ruin for companies like Intuit, so they've spent millions making sure that taxes stay complicated and confusing so that Americans continue to pay them billions just to file.

I know there are a lot of worse, more important things happening right now, but tomorrow Chatchat has to have minor procedure done at the vet.

I'll have to leave her there, and it breaks my stupid heart to think how scared she'll be when I leave her.
Update - Chatchat is home, but now we have a new problem: She smells like the vet, so TangTang thinks she's an imposter sent from our enemies to spy on us.

Now, TangTang just follows Chatchat around everywhere hissing at her
I feel kind of bad for Chatchat. She's very confused as to why this is happening, but to be honest, when her brother Baobao (R.I.P.) came home from the hospital 5yrs ago looking like a clown lion, she treated him the same

In his new book, Don Jr writes about a visit to Arlington National Cemetery before his father's inauguration and compares the sacrifice of the soldiers buried there to "all the sacrifices we'd have to make to help my father succeed." businessinsider.com/trump-jr-new-b…
And while comparing himself to soldiers who died fighting for their country, Don Jr. lies saying that they would be "giving up...all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were 'profiting off of the office.'"

They've done no such thing.
It's barely been a week since the company that Don Jr runs, and his father still profits from, made this announcement.

Last I checked, Doonbeg is not in the United States
