This Senator is trying to pass anti-free speech legislation in Italy that will make government more powerful & citizens weaker.

The press suggests anyone who opposes it is as bad as the Holocaust. This is so bad for Jewish folks.

“Hate speech” legislation always gets used to quash dissent & lead to tyrannical governments. Politicians hate the truth. They hate legitimate concerns. They shield certain groups & countries from any dissent.

It’s not good. The press framing it this way is disgusting.
You should never threaten anyone. What’s happening to her is horrible. But in no way does that justify her to pass big government anti-free speech legislation. That’s what every tyrannical government has done. So to suggest anyone who opposes it is a tyrant is totally backwards.

Republicans are trying so hard to jump through hoops to court the black & Hispanic demographic in America. Which is totally understandable. They need it to win. But you don’t have to always pander so hard with this caricature-style pitch. Just hire & book authentic people.
I guarentee you I can convince more Hispanics to vote red without lining up ten latinos & getting them to scream “build a wall”. Honestly I probably already have. Not all black people want to hear black unemployment is down 1,000 times.

These campus conservatives are corny.
I’m not trying to be mean. I’m trying to help you. I think it’s a better idea than getting booed at your own events & running away from open forum questions from your own party.

Talking heads with talking points is getting stale. Hire some stars & learn. Stop smearing everyone.

I guess Julian Castro is now "alt right" in the eyes of corny campus conservatives who dodge Q&As.

Here is Castro admitting demographic changes in Texas are turning the state blue. But when America First skeptics ask about it, cornball conservatives smear them & run away.
Campus conservatives are now screening questions or flat-out shutting down Q&As. Then they spend 45 minutes lying, dodging, mislabeling, smearing & strawmanning.

Meanwhile... they don’t even agree with themselves!
Ben Shapiro complains about getting falsely labeled alt-right. Then he falsely labels everyone who challenges him & TPUSA with non-generic questions as alt-right. Then he takes the exact stance he just smeared as alt-right.

No wonder they’re getting booed & have to dodge debate.

1. So, after spending millions of pounds on a celebrity fuelled campaign that dismantled all forms of compromise, regurgitated Blairism, legitimised ageism & stereotyped opponents as uneducated racists, the Remain Campaign has handed the Brexit Party an 18% lead in the polls.
2. That's actually quite an incredible achievement and takes us closer to No Deal than would ever have been the case had the Guardian centric echo chambers just accepted the referendum result in the first place, but instead of compromise they chose further polarisation.
3. It was always obvious that trying to reverse the referendum result was going to make Farage more powerful & it's always been obvious that you can't build a progressive society & simultaneously betray 17.4 million voters.

Its horrors have been enshrined in film & made against the law to question or revise in many countries.

To my knowledge, the Holocaust is the only historical event not subject to the rigors of careful re-examination as new evidence comes to light (as is standard procedure.)
Since the events which make up the Holocaust are used as the hinge-pin for the denial of a homeland to people of European heritage, isn't it quite important to have an accurate and rational examination of the same?

Contempt-signaling is the dark side (well, the even darker side) of virtue-signaling, and it's becoming an even more dominant force in politics, because it offers an emotional rush with even less effort on the part of addicts.
At least virtue-signalers might occasionally stumble into a constructive agenda now and then. Contempt-signaling is about turning politics into a sport where you're totally focused on rooting for one side to lose because you hate those people.
Contempt-signalers don't much care what their candidates nominally stand for. It doesn't matter if their agendas are nonsensical or their conduct reprehensible. If the agenda makes Bad People suffer, forces them to violate their beliefs and lose freedom, it's all good.

About my recent tweets on the proportion of federal income tax revenue paid by the top 1% being 40%. I know about payroll tax. I have pointed out many times that separating the two is deceptive and unhelpful. Yes, I understand, that if you want to measure the total tax burden...
You would want to include all taxes. I also understand that while the top 1% has 20% of the income, they have more of the wealth. Got it. I also understand that the rich have a disproportionate share of the political power in the US. I was simply pointing out that if the top 1%
really ran the system, if the system were "rigged" as people like to claim, you'd think the top 1% would find a way to avoid paying the $600B they currently pay annually to Uncle Sam. But maybe that's just a ruse to distract people from the fact that they run things.

Hello all, as this can be a crucial day for the new (populist) #Italy government I am now going to tweet a short thread on it, focusing especially on the (almost ready) M5S-LEGA agenda. At least 70 billions of additional debt are expected. How will Europe react? THREAD 🇮🇹
1. As I have been personally saying since the first election results (see here ) and despite a broad general skepticism on it in #Italy, a LEGA-M5S government was the only possible, given the circumstances after the vote. So, now we are very close to it.
2. Five Stars Movement (M5S) leader Di Maio and LEGA leader Salvini have been negotiating for days on a coalition contract (like in Germany). There have reportedly agreed on many points (we'll see later). But the big hurdle is: who is going to be the new Prime Minister?

When I first did real (small-a) agile, at @pivotallabs circa 2009, it was clear to me almost immediately that this was the most powerful way to build software that I’d ever participated in.
Pivotal wasn’t a brand so much at that point, and agile hadn’t “won.” I frequently had to explain, discuss, and (ultimately) defend the practices to many of the client developers on my early projects.
