Since I started speaking out, some have called me a RINO (if you aren’t familiar with the term, it stands for Republican In Name Only. Ultra-right-wing R's use it if someone isn't “falling in line,” and define that as anyone who isn't fully embracing the President).
I reject this characterization. I am not the RINO. The Republican Party has lost its moorings - Donald Trump is the RINO.
Under Trump we have record debt (real R’s care about budgets). Under Trump we have a trade war (real R’s believe in free trade. Under Trump we disrespect intelligence agencies (real R’s respect the rule of law and the competence of the Foreign Service).
I will keep speaking out for a more sane, inclusive Republican Party.

I was struck Weds. by the stories and demeanor of the two witnesses that testified. William Taylor (Top 1% in West Point class) chose a vulnerable spot in the Infantry during Viet Nam, then worked in public service. These choices were made to serve something greater than himself.
And we heard from George Kent, a Harvard graduate and decades-long diplomat who speaks Ukrainian, Russian and Thai. Again we see a public servant who has chosen to serve a purpose beyond his own ego.
In this age of celebrity and social media, people often seek their 15 seconds of fame rather than serve a greater purpose. My hope is that public servants such as Kent, Taylor, Yovanovich, Vindman and Hill serve as role models to new generations.

The current scandal unfolding in front of our eyes doesn’t JUST involve Donald Trump.  It involves Attorney General William Barr as well.  If you want to understand HOW an Attorney General and a Justice Department is supposed to act, let’s talk history.
During the Watergate Scandal, Nixon’s VP Spiro Agnew was wrapped up in his own scandal.  At this time, there was a concurrent federal investigation surrounding corruption in Maryland politics (where Agnew had been Governor).  And just who was investigating the VP?
Attorney General Elliot Richardson.  Richardson was a LIFELONG Republican, appointed by Republican Richard Nixon.  Richardson's lead prosecutor was a lifelong Republican named George Beall.  Beall’s brother was a sitting Republican Senator who VP Agnew previously helped elect!

If you feel frustrated with what’s happening in the country right now, I have some sincere advice to give you.  When you hear it, you may feel intimidated but please hear me out:

Run for office.
Whether you run for State Senate, County Treasurer, School Board or some other position, we need good people in office.  People often feel like they “don’t know enough,” but believe me. You do.
We need more teachers in government.  We need more electricians in government. We need social workers and steel workers and people who know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck.

1. Several months ago I started seeing a very frightening, very formidable fact emerging from the darkness. It wasn't coming out to be healed or to surrender; it was coming out to feed. I saw hints and clues about it but it was a beast I have never understood...until now.

Speaking of bad lawsuits and stupid rhetoric, what about that time that William F. Buckley, Jr. sued an author for suggesting he was a right-wing nut?

Buckley v. Littell, decided by the Second Circuit in 1976. /1

Buckley sued the author of a book called "Wild Tongues," but not for the reasons you're assuming, perv. "Wild Tongues" was about right-wing extremism.

/3 Buckley won a modest verdict in the trial court. The Second Circuit overturned part of it -- finding that the terms like "fascist" and "fellow-traveler" were political rhetoric and opinion. Well, duh.

It is no surprise Twitter targets accounts for “wrong think” or as we on the #Right like to call it “free-think” this is because of two events which are now totally and utterly inextricably linked, #Brexit and #Trump and the Establishment have been rocked to the core. 2/15
Neither of which were supposed to happen & yet they did now the Establishment is determined never to allow it to happen again or even at all, the reason for them happening was nothing to do with social media, but was to do with people knocking on doors and persuading others. 3/15
