Lie: @NYpost attacking release of 900 “jailbirds” & decrying $12 million spent for supervised release instead of jail.

Truth: It would cost *$273 million/yr* to jail those same 900 people on Rikers, presumed innocent, on bail they can’t afford, w/ no benefit to public safety.

More truth: People overwhelmingly come to court with no supervision. Supervised release-when requested-only further ensures return to court. The alternative: The violence of jail or costly, traumatic & unnecessary arrests on warrants for inadvertently missing a single court date.

CALL OUT FEARMONGERING LIARS: Discovery reform brought NY in line w/ *rest of country.* The statute is modeled off of what ‘law & order’ TX has done since 2013. No issues w/ witness safety there. Laws protect witnesses when needed w/ firewall btwn defense atty & client. Sit down.
Joe wants to maintain a rare, archaic system that has lead NY to have the second highest wrongful conviction rate in country. A system allowing prosecutors to withhold most evidence *until trial began.* Trial by ambush. Uninformed guilty pleas. Delayed trials. Gross injustice.
The truth: In NY, prosecutors don’t have to turn over most evidence till day of trial. So for the 97% whose cases resolve before trial, they’re making decisions in the dark without seeing much if anything. This will change in less than 2 months:

You can always count on @nypost to do the dirty work of pro-carceral forces. I pay less attention to who is writing their dangerous messages. Came across Julia after her 3rd article slamming $12 million that will be spent supporting struggling people instead of jailing them.
In her article, Julia raises the alarm on release of “900 jailbirds” & criminals—actual humans stuck on Rikers on misdemeanors & nonviolent felonies, too poor to purchase their freedom—who may get incentives on top of reminders to come to court. How dare NY spend money on them?

Gut wrenching. NYPD in subway surround woman selling churros. She’s crying. They’re telling her she stops or get arrested. Trying to talk to them in Spanish. Rolling their eyes at her. Lead out of station in cuffs. Cart taken away. This is police violence.

People keep saying @realDonaldTrump made a misstep using the word "lynching". People obviously aren't paying attention., so I'll break it down for you in simplistic terms.

Within seconds of the tweet, all the rapid response people of the left went into hyperdrive condemning it.
Within a few minutes of the Tweet they response email went out to the left and they all attack on one message, racism, hate, division, etc etc.

Then the RINOs respond with their weak message half assed condemnations and trying to seperate themselves from the tweet and the POTUS
The supporters voiced their support of the POTUS & the circle has been drawn.

Within an hour of the tweet, the twitterverse produces 8 videos of the same people on the left using the word "lynching" during the Clinton impeachment in 1998. Further exposure of the double standard

Until now, the only SEO space where AMP was kind of "mandatory" was on news: if you want to appear on the "Top stories" box, you kind of need to have your articles to use AMP. You can appear there withouth AMP, but you don't get the same visual benefits #AMP #SEO .
Now Google is bringing "Stories" (like Instagram Stories, Snapchat Stories, etc.) to search results. They just announced it at #ampconf (see ) #AMP #SEO
This means that for certain kind of queries (by now: travel, and later also gaming, movies, tv and fashion) the first result will get another "special box" called "Visual Stories" where you can only appear using not only AMP, but AMP stories #AMP #SEO

People often ask me why it's so much easier to find cautionary tales of companies that didn't do their research rather than good case studies.

#1 Shockingly few businesses do useful qualitative research.
#2 If successful research happens that informs product decisions and leads to more successful products, it usually gets filed under hindsight bias or trade secrets.
#3 There is no one path to learning. Insights can come from all sorts of formal and informal activities if you are asking good questions. (And, as in journalism, not all investigations bear fruit but that doesn't mean you stop investigating.)

Fare evasion is the SECOND HIGHEST category of arrests in NYC and 92% of those arrested are Black and Brown people #SwipeItForward
What these numbers tell us is that the NYPD specifically targets young Black and Brown people who use public transit. NYPD routinely stops and harasses folks to “verify” that they have paid the $2.75 to ride train. This is a continuation of unconstitutional stop and frisk policy
