HATE SPEECH NOT FREE SPEECH

A crazy man pulled a picture of violence from Zimbabwe, Burundi OE Bujumbura and labelled it Ibo slaughters Hausa or Hausa slaughter Yorubas then posted it on Facebook, WhatsApp group chat or on Twitter without verifying, which is what we do often.

We just share it and in a moment, it spreads so fast that it started reprisals

You uncle, brother, mother, father, aunts friends or neighbour not knowing what is happening ahead of him, unfortunately finds himself in the middle of the rioters, he/she is identified as 'enemy'.

They are gruesomely murdered, for what he knows absolutely nothing about, which absolutely didn't even happened, but he is gruesomely murdered with several other innocent people simply because, they are Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba in the wrong place at the wrong time

They are victims of someone's madness, someone's despicable attitude, Someone's hate for another tribe, but this mad man is happily sleeping in his room on his bed in Lagos, Ilaro, Ibadan, Ilesha, Nnewi, Mgbidi, Yola, Portiskum, Brass, Otukpo, Sapele, wherever.

...but your uncle, your aunt, your brother, sister, mother, father nephew, cousins, pastor, imam, wife, husband are being mangled.

Hate Speech is not free speech or political opposition

Hate speeches are deliberately and perfectly coined to incite one group against another

We have to stop it at whatever cost

Facebook is curbing hate speech, Twitter is curbing hate speech, the state of Alabama treats Hate Speech as class A felony
