Most of my best recommendations don't come from algorithms.

Whether you're investing, apartment hunting, or looking for your next great book, do the opposite of what the standard algorithm tells you to do.

If you want to find emerging and under-rated ideas, stop using algorithms.

These ideas are hidden and obscure.

They're the opposite of viral.

Instead of relying on algorithms to find them, identify your favorite people and follow the people who influenced them.
1) BOOKS

Amazon systematically under-recommends books with a high-variance in reviews.

It tends to recommend books everybody likes, instead of ones that some people love and other people hate.

That's why I trust footnotes and personal recommendations more than Amazon reviews

This was already addressed mid-thread. You do realize filing lawsuits costs money to the court, yes?

There are a few options. Provide evidence he wasn't there or X wasn't there, or depose X and challenge X's credibility (history of lying, etc), or provide evidence X is lying (emails, texts, etc), or get on the stand to say "that's false" and pray

They're too dim to realize ppl find out about the GFMs *because* they were shared on Twitter

People have pointed out that @LouiseBagshawe has been suspended. It was frat reported to @TwitterSupport by trolls; I have just now been told that there’s no TOS violation but they think it is not me (impersonation) :)
I have emailed @TwitterSupport @TwitterUK explaining the concept of maiden names and offering to provide a copy of my marriage certificate - it’s a bit sexist really.
I will file a long-form report from this account, but @LouiseBagshawe was a UK focused chat account so I can’t get immensely upset about it. I’m glad they confirmed no TOS violations other than allegedly “impersonating” myself :)

#1. Start an Agony Aunt/Uncle Hotline, a "Dear___" thing.

# 2. Start it around a HOT topic - sex, beauty,relationships,health (No gossip ever).

# 3. Ask people to send you intimate questions they cant ask others and guarantee anonymity.

You can recommend stuff as an affiliate from Clickbank, Jumia/Konga or your own store. You can sell them your products - ebooks, courses, supplements etc.

1. If it's true, that's the more reason you should do it. They have proven there's a market for it.

This is a look back at a big change in search but which continues to be important: understanding synonyms. How people search is often different from information that people write solutions about.
Last few months, Google has been using neural matching, --AI method to better connect words to concepts. Super synonyms, in a way, and impacting 30% of queries. Don't know what "soap opera effect" is to search for it? We can better figure it out.

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."
