Today on D&D: Dirt, Friend of all Living Things, had convinced the party that while they were in the Shadowfell rescuing people, they should go visit his friend the Raven Queen...
So they fought their way past an elder elemental that was blocking the way to Letherna and when they got there, Vasa organized a raucous wake for all the souls milling around who were waiting for Valhalla, Gymir and Jatanna learned secret lore from the Library of the Dead...
...and Diima's player decided to delve into her character's backstory by revealing the Raven Queen was her mother.

Meanwhile, Dirt literally just basically said hi, we were in the neighborhood so we wanted to stop in.
Diima's player did not tell me in advance she had decided her character (who is an Aasimar) was the Raven Queen's daughter. I think she decided it off the cuff because as the newest character she has the least associated lore and gets dragged along on other people's stuf.
To keep things interesting, I decided the Raven Queen was her *mortal* parent so her celestial parent is still unknown.

(Aasimar.)
Anyway, glad I've been watching so much @dimension20show because I feel like even six months ago I would not have been ready to handle that curveball as it happened, but watching improv artists roleplay will level you up quickly.
