Operability before interoperability. Before you can work with everyone else, you need to make sure your own operations work well. Make sure you can do the basics. #iaem19
Disaster recovery is the true measure of success. Emergency management professionals need to focus on recovery and outcome driven programs. #iaem19
Can you convert a plan into true operational readiness? Have you tested the plans to make sure they will actually work, and supplies will actually make it the last mile to the disaster survivor. #iaem19
The key to this profession is people. We've invested a lot of money in buying things, and we're trying to fix problems by buying stuff. Instead we have to invest in people. #iaem19
Be personally invested in who you hire. The people you hire will make a difference when it counts. Many of the problems you are chasing go away when you invest in people. #iaem19
Update your EAS testing message. Put some preparedness content inthere. It doesn't have to be a basic test message. Work with your local broadcasters to make an EAS message that matters. #iaem19
