Mr. Long is saying no one has ever starved after a tornado in the US, and that food isn't a problem. He said it as a laugh line. Also, he thinks the reason people are poor is because they buy expensive cars and houses. Ugh. #iaem19
And now we are discussing Puerto Rico. He's already said there was no local response to the disaster in Puerto Rico. Which would be news to Puerto Ricans. He just said Puerto Rico had thirty days of food and water, and said FEMA shouldn't have sent any. #iaem19
He said he believes in Climate Change, but other than mitigation, he doesn't know what government can do about it, other than give the money to private Telecoms. He wants to spend mitigation money supporting private business. That's the response to climate change. #iaem19
Some things I agree on- he says that FEMA needs to be taken out of DHS- Yes. And that FEMA hiring needs to be fixed- Also yes. And emergency managers need to know more about insurance- Definitely. #iaem19
