Okay, this Tweet kinda blew up & I can't respond to all of the conservatives who don't understand what an analogy is.

I have always noticed that conservatives tend to have a hard time engaging with, or even understanding, analogies & thought experiments.
It turns out that multiple studies have found that low abstract reasoning skills are associated with stronger conservative beliefs.

There is an upside to this; making conservatives engage with abstract thinking may prime them to think more liberaly.
Don't disengage with them when they trie to dodge or make excuses as to why it's a "dishonest" question. Make them work through abstract ways of thinking.
