Another Rafale lie of the Modi govt. nailed 👇

On 6th March, 2019, I’d filed an RTI with the Ministry of Home Affairs asking about the Rafale "stolen documents".

The RTI was transferred to the Department of Defense, MoD.

This is what I'd asked (see image)

After much stalling, the Ministry claimed that a reply had been sent by Speed Post to me - which I never received.

Finally, after much following up, a copy has been provided to me today.

Basically - NO FIR/COMPLAINT WAS FILED about the so-called "stolen secret docs".

Now, funnily, under the Official Secrets Act (which the Modi govt. invoked in the SC), any violation of this Act has to be reported to the police immediately.

Failure to report an offense under the Official Secrets Act carries a punishment of imprisonment for 3 years.

So:

A) Why did the MoD never report this "theft" of documents which it claimed in the SC as mandated under the Official Secrets Act?

B) What's the status of this "internal enquiry" 8 months after it was instituted?

The truth is plain & simple: the Modi govt. lied on Rafale. This alleged "theft of documents" was a convenient distraction to mislead the people.

Only a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation will reveal the murkiness of what happened.

Rafale IS a scam.

While we're at it, the Defense Ministry should answer who is leading this "internal enquiry" & its status.

And they should also identify the official/Minister who needs to face trial for violating the OSA & not reporting this "crime" (if a crime even happened, that is).
