The DOJ IG made a criminal referral of Kevin Clinesmith, a former low-level FBI lawyer, for altering an email from another agency used in preparing to seek renewals of the Page FISA. But he's not found politically biased actions by FBI higher ups. nytimes.com/2018/07/21/us/…

@adamgoldmanNYT Important: Horowitz's §1001 referral of Clinesmith for adding stuff to the bottom of an email in a way that misled the FBI's FISA affiant appears to be why the Barr-Durham look at the Trump-Russia inquiry got elevated from a mere administrative review to a criminal investigation.

The DOJ is staffed with lawyers. That's pretty much its purpose.

People continue to be surprised when it comes to Politics intersecting legal matters like indictments and going to trial that the Dems tend to have more favorable representation than the GOP.
I have no idea why this should surprise anyone still. Lawyers tend to be Democrats. They tend to graduate from leftist law schools. Even the "GOP lawyers" tend to lean left in their views on many issues besides taxes. Hell, many GOP appointed supreme Court Justices turn liberal.

Interesting how WaPo reports nothing changed probe after an agent tampered with FISA reports. Rod Rosenstein said Russia meddled in the election but didn’t change the results, yet Mueller ran a 2 year witch hunt. Somebody better be charged. #FISA
I don't care if a the person altering he documents was a low level FBI agent. No one is above the law and by altering the documents so that Carter Page could be "spied" on also allowed people in his orbit to be spied on. This is serious and charges MUST be brought.
Don't be fooled. The liberal media is telling us this is a nothing burger. WRONG! It is serious. The FBI compromised documents so that an American citizen could be spied on.

Put a fork in it. It's done. It was just a low-level FBI agent and a rogue employee in New York. Otherwise, the effort to seek the FISA warrant and its renewals was just 'sloppy and unprofessional', but nothing to worry about. Nothing to see here. Move on.
Question: Will NY Times and the Democrats accept with the same blasé attitude anything that Trump admin might happen to do in a 'sloppy and unprofessional' way, say ask Ukraine to investigate Burisma?

We know the answer already, don't we?
