Put a fork in it. It's done. It was just a low-level FBI agent and a rogue employee in New York. Otherwise, the effort to seek the FISA warrant and its renewals was just 'sloppy and unprofessional', but nothing to worry about. Nothing to see here. Move on.
Question: Will NY Times and the Democrats accept with the same blasé attitude anything that Trump admin might happen to do in a 'sloppy and unprofessional' way, say ask Ukraine to investigate Burisma?

We know the answer already, don't we?
Now mind you, it was not a one time 'sloppy and unprofessional' effort to seek a FISA warrant to wiretap Carter Page. All its renewals were also done with the same consummate degree of sloppiness and unprofessionalism.
And here is the killer. Several of these 'sloppy and unprofessional' renewals of the FISA warrant happened after Trump had already moved into the White House. So this didn't only happen under Loretta Lynch, it continued to happen under Jeff Sessions.
Do people understand now why this makes Trump angry?

IG Report will be made public on December 9.
To be clear, I am not critiquing IG Horowitz in this thread. We have to wait till December 9 to know what's actually in the report. I am marveling at how MSM (NY Times and Washington Post in particular) are always working so strenuously to carry water for the Democrats.
President Trump has a slightly different take on it.

A renowned Democrat makes the argument that Hunter Biden bagging $50,000 a month from Ukrainian Burisma while his father as Vice President ran interference in Ukraine is unwise because ... wait for it ... every 'journalistic outlet' that looked into it says there's nothing to it.
Democrats now make their case for being right and Republicans being wrong on the foundation that liberal mainstream media agrees with them. What an asinine argument!

1. These Are Very Ordinary Times -- the Most Extraordinarily Ordinary

One of the sorry-ass formulations I am revolted by is, "Ordinarily we wouldn't do this, but these are no ordinary times" used haphazardly to justify some unseemly maneuver to gain political advantage.
2. The phrase 'no ordinary time' is almost exclusively used to imply a deviation from the norm so severe and so dangerous that extraordinarily scandalous and/or imprudent measures are justified to overturn the political equilibrium.
3. In reality, and blessedly, 'no ordinary times' have been few and far between over the last couple of centuries in the U.S. Civil War was no ordinary time. WWII was no ordinary time. And so on. By comparison, we live in the most extraordinarily ordinary times.
