Before you start saying that they deserve it, they're a worthy cause, anything like that, stop. That's literally not the point. There are umpteen and one worthy causes thanks to the Tories dismantling the welfare system - that doesn't mean that it's advisable to address them.
At some point, a modest amount of fiscal responsibility has to enter the picture, otherwise you might as well just raise your finger to the corner of your mouth Dr Evil style, and cackle: "£100 trillion pounds."
In other words, you simply cannot divorce policies and their costs in a rational universe.

The simple act of voting in a Labour government doesn't itself grow our economy by a single penny, so where is all this magic extra money they've pledged to spend coming from? (Even they don't know!)
