Many of the same people who oppose Brexit oppose Jeremy Corbyn's vast spending plans and slew of nationalisations.

Labour has never ever acknowledged that it needs their votes if it is to have any chance of winning the general election. /1
Simply put:
- Labour's base wasn't sufficient to win it a majority in 2017
- Polls make it crystal clear that Labour have lost a lot of their 2017 base, some to the LibDems, some to the Brexit Party (or even the Tories for one election cycle) /2
So the only way of countering that is to find additional pools of voters elsewhere.

*But* the further you get from Labour's robust core, the more Corbyn is a huge turn-off.

A strong pro-Remain position could have compensated for that. Instead, Corbyn made the fence official! /3
It's getting very, very late to start persuading people. And dumping unfunded pledges on top of what is already the largest planned spending spree for half a century isn't the answer.

People aren't stupid. They know the money has to come from somewhere. Jam today is a con. /4
What's the answer? I don't know. But what I am certain is that it's *not* to keep doubling down again and again on spending pledges, offering absolutely everything to everyone. That just sounds desperate.

Labour need to acknowledge they have a problem then fix it. /END
