My travels to Rwanda began in 2013. The country is home to stunning landscapes, mountain gorillas, is visa free and now there's daily affordable direct flights on @FlyJambojet from Nairobi to Kigali.

Here's a thread on what to do and how to plan for the trip
#JambojetInRwanda
1. Named as a top destination, Rwanda is one of the few countries that offers visa on arrival to everyone that is not Visa exempt. The country is part of the East African visa plan together with Uganda and
2. You can now fly directly to Kigali from Nairobi at the lowest price with Jambojet at 105 USD one way. The inaugural flight is launching tomorrow Monday 25 November at 1435hrs EAT. After which there will be daily flights #JambojetInRwanda
3. If you are visiting Rwanda for the first time. Your first stop should be Kigali. It's the cleanest, most organized city I have ever been to. Listen, you cannot break rules ovyo ovyo in this city.
For example.. the boda guys? They will not let you ride without a helmet.
4. You'll immediately notice that the country is known as the land of a thousand hills for a reason. It's green. It's lush. It's home to literally a thousand hills. Aki the hills could be more. Man, The hills are endless.
5. Every once a month, the last Saturday of the month. Everyone spends a few hours cleaning the country. The activity is referred to as Umuganda and is meant to bring them together as they beautify their country
6. As always, when looking for a place to stay, I recommend using booking .com and airbnb. You are now in the land of a thousand hills as Rwanda is known for, prepare yourself for incredible views.
Always read reviews before choosing a place.
7 Things to do Kigali.
Try the Akabenz. This is a plate of fire pork that is dipped in sweet sauce
Check out Inema arts center.
Have brochettes these are popilar in Rwanda and they are served with bananas or fried potatoes. They're delicious especially when dipped in mayonnaise
8 Can you imagine the sunsets in a hilly city? Take in epic sunset views from one of the rooftop hotels. Last I was there I went to roof top hotel in Nyamirambo.
Another way to watch the sunset it take an evening motari ride. With this you'll get a full view of the city.
9. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial
A visit to one of the memorial sites will leave you heartbroken. It will then remind you that despite the sad past, Rwanda is moving forward.
Also, try the local beers. Rwanda has a couple of beer brands my favorite was the Skol.
10. outside Kigali. Take the scenic road trip to Ruhengeri and treat yourself to a gorrila trekking adventure in Volcanoes National park. This is probably one of the most expensive things you'll do in this list.Permits must be booked in advance and they limit the no of guests
11 Gorillas are truly the pride of Rwanda such that they have an annual event, Kwita Izina ceremony to name gorillas.
12. However Volcanoes National Park isnt just limited to Gorilla trekking. There are other options to go on guided or unguided hiking tours and mountain bike excursions
If you find Gorrila trekking expensive choose to go Chimpanzee trekking at Nyungwe forest National Park. It's way cheaper. As usual you'll be in for a treat with the incredible views before you see the chimps
Still in Nyungwe, Face your fear of heights by taking the canopy walk
14. Rwanda is not your typical safari destination but did you know you can go on a safari and maybe spot the big five at the Akagara national park? You won't see as many animals but you'll enjoy the landscape
15. Rwanda is landlocked but you can get your beach experience thanks to Lake Kivu in places like Kibuye and Gisenyi
Go island hopping in Kibuye on a boat. It will take you a few hours since you'll take several stops to go to the various islands, swim and hiking.
16.Gisenyi is also a fantastic spot to get another view of lake Kivu and its close to DRC. In case you want to visit this country by road
17. I see Rwanda as my second home. I hope to explore some more. You too should experience the land of a thousand hills.Take advantage of the fact that Jambojet is offering the lowest market price and treat yourself to the one of the hilliest greenest countries #JambojetInRwanda
cc @theMagunga for your upcoming trip to the land of a thousand hills :)
Forgot to add some photos of me living my best Rwandan life last year
